Postdoctoral Positions

We are currently seeking to fill TWO POSTDOC POSITIONS in our lab, the Community Ecology & Conservation Group, at Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The research considers the importance of small forest fragments in long-term resilience of vertebrate-dispersed tree species in a tropical forest landscape, Xishuangbanna, Southwest China, for which we have just received significant research grant support.

Expressions of interest, should be emailed to Professor Kyle Tomlinson (kyle.tomlinson@xtbg.org.cn), and should include an indication of which research topics you are interested in applying for, what relevant experience you have to support your application, and a full CV to back the expression of interest.

PhD positions

We are always interested to hear from PhD students who are interested to start work in the lab on a number of different identified topics. Scholarships for PhDs are usually called in the early part of each year. There are a number of different options depending on the nationality and academic record of the applicant. If you wish to apply for one of these grants through our group, please send a letter of introduction together with a CV and academic transcript to Professor Kyle Tomlinson (kyle.tomlinson@xtbg.org.cn) before the end of the calendar year.

Interns

We have lots of opportunities for visiting undergraduates who are interested in working on field, greenhouse and online data collection components of our projects. We can support your costs in China if you can fund your own travel here. We expect you to spend at least 2 months here. All work can be conducted in English, but a basic grasp of Mandarin will enrich your experience. Xishuangbanna is a great place to visit! If this interests you, please send a letter of interest and a CV to Professor Kyle Tomlinson (kyle.tomlinson@xtbg.org.cn).
